Koh Tao

Are we still in Portland? Spent a rainy 5 days on the islands and never got to snorkel (the run off cut any visibility), but we were able to catch up on bad movies and eat good Thai food and drink some beers. This confirmed for both of us we do not like rain, and that we needed time to really rest. We did spend time on the West side of the island that is the best for snorkeling. It was in this little hut that had a bathroom, wood plank floors that you could see through to the ground, and a mosquito netting(oh so romantic)...except for the mosquito's!

This is where we had a cabin!

This is the brown water from the run off!

This is the pig that the owners had as a pet! Spencer and the pig bonded, until the pig thought that it was queen. She started to nibble at him...was it love?

Everything started to mold...even when we got back to the port side we could not dry things out. There is one sunny day where we went swimming.

By the end we were ready for India! On the 5th of Nov we flied out.

In the Air

What is a 30 hour plane flight like. It feels like a surreal experience where everything is in slow motion while in the air. There are many options on a plane flight. I choose to read a book, chat with Spencer, and watch a few movies.

Believe me I had other ideas of fun...that just didn't happen. Oh and on a chinese flight do not order gluten free meals! They are american food steamed...I so could have gotten to eat asian food that had taste!
Here is the sunset as we awaken to land in Taiwan:

When we got to Thailand it was runing to get through customs to get our bags. Once outside we are fighting off herds of Taxi drivers that are wanting us to get in there car to take us to a special place! I hear they want to take you to fake jewelry places. Then we are dropped off on Koh san road. It is a place where travelers stop off to stay. We gave up looking to stay at a luxurious place at $20 a night or $700 baht. It was worth having air conditioning....I never thought that I would ever say that. You all know how I love the heat! So we wandered in after a dinner of BBQ shrimp, and larb(which if you have not had you should) to have a drink in the hotel that we are staying as we leave we see that there is a Ganesha right outside of the hotel. So with having little sleep, and having a great bed after 2 weks on a futon we were out cold....except for Spencer getting up when the party started outside around 1AM. The next morning with a free breakfast of broth with rice and pork...I am a convert to this breakfast...oh yeah and coffee with sweetened and condensed milk. Thanks to Allie the most wonderful hostess I indulged in a few of her cups of coffee that way before I left! We both give gifts to ganesha to remove obstacles for our travels! We are leaving tonight for an island that is on the south eastern side of Thailand. I am excited to go because we were going to another island Koh pan gan that was were there are full moon parties...I was prepared with sparkles in tow. All of a sudden we are going to a different island because we are thinking of getting our diving license, and what does Spencer tell me until lunch (of phad thai and spring rolls from a lady cooking in the middle of the road which cost us $2 for both of us) we are going to what the locals call TURTLE ISLAND or Koh Tao! I had told Spencer before that I had wanted to go to an island apon our return where the turtles will be birthing. This is that Island, and I hope to return to it birthing into this new person that I hope to become! I have to say that Spencer is the only person that I can do this type of trip with. He has the ability to follow his intuition, which if you all could see him...he is in the flow. I love that guy! I love travelling with him! Believe me Ganesh is opening the path, and it feels good!

Heart Odyssey

We have been talking about India since the first day that we met! It is a love for both of us. Above is the feeling that we get after 3 days at a hot spring, surrounded by friends at a party! Spencer says that we can get this while opening to the intelligent energy of India. I have never been, he has been twice (well, three times if you count a night in Delhi when he was seven)...we take off on Thursday for this blessed land. We shall see what it has in-store for us.
